Stroll through Inverness, listening to my audio chat.
I very much hope that you will allow me to help you wander through the most fascinating and historic areas of Inverness. The route is circular, beginning and ending at Inverness Castle. The distance is 3.5 km, and it takes me 1 hour and 40 minutes. See every stop at a glance, choose the order and the speed that suits you and get clear directions along the way. The app guides you throughout the tour, so you always know where you are and where to go next. Pause or visit where you want. Then pick up the story again, whenever you’re ready. No crowds, just you, me and the stories. Click Inverness Self-Guided Tour for more information and the way to buy and access this tour
A few of the many highlights on this self-guided walking tour are: • Inverness Castle: A castle has stood here for over 1,000 years, commanding wonderful views of the city, and now containing a major visitor attraction. • Inverness Town House: opened in 1882, and very much the civic heart of the city. • Greyfriars Churchyard: oldest graveyard in Inverness – both misnamed and haunted, but more about that later. • Inverness Cathedral: Episcopalian cathedral built in 1869, dedicated to St Andrew, but with a few surprises inside. • Eden Court Theatre: being the largest arts venue in the Highlands, and also haunted. • Uile Bheist Distillery: a new Scotch whisky distillery, brewery and visitor experience, dedicated to its arts.
